This is an information service provided by the Celestial Mountains Tour Company, (CMTC), to present information about The Year in Kyrgyzstan.

As well as presenting pages with background information, we also highlight a number of events planned to be held during the course of the year.

We hope that it will help visitors to Kyrgyzstan find out what is happening in the country during their stay and to plan their time and activities whilst they are here, whether they are here as tourists or on business.

One of the “problems” with Kyrgyzstan is that events are planned and implemented at very short notice.  So many of the dates later in the year are still empty.  We will add events as and when we learn about them, but that may well mean only a short time, (sometimes a very short time) before they are scheduled to occur.

June 2012: We have changed the layout of the daily page for an experimental period … we have listed venues and highlighted featured events in RED …  please let us know what you think … is it better?

Bishkek Madaniyat:

In 2008 the Celestial Mountains Companies initiated a new service: a short (1 page), monthly, free newsletter containing announcements for a selection of cultural activities, (mainly in Bishkek), called “Bishkek Mandaniyat”, (Madaniyat in Kyrgyz means “culture”).

The idea for the newsletter arose simply because we often hear about events only a few days they happen – sometimes on the day, (and sometimes even after they have happened), which makes planning difficult.

It includes brief information about various cultural activities (theater, cinema, exhibitions, etc.), in the format of an A4 page in a pdf file, easy to print and display.

There are two language versions: Russian and English.
